Appearance: Luca's looks make him stand out in a crowd usually, much to his displeasure. He stands about six foot five inches and has chocolate colored eyes that make most girls melt just by looking into them. His signature Ainsworth dark brown hair is styled slightly different depending on where his next assignment is, and his wardrobe also differs with location. He wears bright colors as often as possible while still managing to blend in with the people of the area he currently is in. He never leaves home without headphones or earbuds, depending on the location of his assignment, so he always has loud music to play.

PERSONALITYLuca almost has two personalities, one on and one off the job. Typically, he's almost like a scared little kid. Very timid and shy, he doesn't speak his mind very much at all. His shy nature comes in conflict with his noticeable height and love of bright colors, both of which make him stand out. Even though he is nineteen and rather strong, he often feels defenseless, usually because of the onslaught of human thoughts if he's ever caught without his headphones. He's never lied a day in his life, having hated liars from the day he realized his parents were never going to remove him from the institution.
While on a job for Sin-Ark, he is cold and collected. Because he is usually focused on the target's thoughts, he doesn't worry too much about forgetting his headphones, but the worry is still slightly there. Again, he doesn't lie to any of his victims, he just picks at their fears and secrets. He doesn't feel any remorse for those he torments, because he knows they would all regard him the same way his parents had.
His feelings for his family are that of a strong hatred, all except for his baby sister, Lola. He hadn't known Lola for very long before being sent away, so he doesn't blame her for what happened to him. He secretly hopes she has developed powers so he can save her from their parents, and so he has someone who understands his situation.

HISTORY:The first three years of Luca's life were normal. Just him and his two parents, a middle-class family. But not long before his little sister, Lola, was born, Luca discovered he could hear faint voices in his head. What he didn't know was that the "voices" were actually thoughts of those around him. Back then, the thoughts were very faint, and he could only hear two or three at once. His parents had no idea how to handle a young boy claiming to have voices in his head and decided to send him to a mental institution when Lola was only a month old. Confused and scared, Luca focused on his mother's kind voice as she said, "We'll come back after a little while, I promise." She never did keep her promise...
Life at the institution was full of gray. The dull colors, the nasty food, the frightening people of the mental ward and their equally scary thoughts made Luca shy and reclusive. He spent as much time in his room as he possibly could. He began to loathe the chocolate pudding all the other patients would beg him for but found it useful for bribing others into doing almost anything he wanted.
When he got older and could hear about four to five people's thoughts at once, he found that he could use his mind reading abilities to torment the other patients. He fed off their fears, their pasts, their secrets, anything to torment them and feel powerful, feel like someone important... someone his parents might possibly want again...
By the time he was seventeen, Luca's powers were nearly uncontrollable. Save for the times he focused on one person's thoughts, he could hear all the patients thoughts at once, as if he were surrounded by thousands of people although there were only a handful. He discovered that even the faint sound of a violin could calm the storm within his mind and asked one of the nurses to always have it play in his room. His reclusive behavior became worse as the thoughts of others became louder. He eventually had to eat alone in his room because it had gotten so bad.
One day, a nurse stopped by his room, explaining that a relative of his had come to pick him up. Hopeful that his family had finally returned for him, Luca focused on the thoughts of the nurse as they walked towards the lobby. She seemed suspicious of the relative that had come for him. And when he saw the man who claimed to be his relative, he was suspicious as well. The man had many layers of clothes on, including a high collared trench coat. The man explained he was sick and didn't want to get anyone else sick. He was able to produce the appropriate paperwork to confirm his relation to Luca, and the boy was finally free of the institution.
In the man's car, Luca discovered he could not read the man's mind. The man admitted that he was not Luca's relative, but had had an eye on the boy for some time. He was aware of Luca's powers and the problems that came with them. The man offered to relieve Luca of his powers if he'd use them for the man's own purposes for a while. "I... want to find my family first, before my powers are gone. I want to show them that they were wrong... I want them to hurt like I did..." Luca told the man. "What's your name, anyway?"
"Sin-Ark," the man answered. "And yes, you may have your revenge. I'll even help you with it." And so two years passed, with Luca doing Sin-Ark's bidding. His promise to rid Luca of his powers is a faint memory now, since Luca's main objective is revenge on his family. But he still wishes he'd never been given his powers in the first place...

POST EXAMPLE:The violin fell to a pianissimo, so very quiet yet remarkably louder than the rest of the orchestra. A crescendo here, an accelerando there, the violinist was truly talented. Luca loved the peaceful time when all that could be heard was that solo violinist backed by the remainder of the orchestra. It was his daily reward for a job well done.
He'd made certain to never fail a task again. The train station and the train ride thereafter without his headphones had nearly made his head split in two, figuratively of course. It was obvious to the young man that Sin-Ark took their man-hunt very seriously.
Luca hated the fact he couldn't read the man's mind. He had no idea who Sin-Ark wanted to find (and apparently destroy) so badly, and it bothered him. His only clue: “They will have thoughts not belonging to themselves.” So they were dealing with basket cases? Luca was confused as to why he hadn't searched for these people in an asylum, although he was happy he'd never had to as of yet.
The CD changed to the next song, one that he'd dubbed as Lola's song. He knew she'd be sixteen by now, but he couldn't help but picture her as a toddler. “Don't worry, Lola. Big Brother will save you...” Luca whispered, tapping his toe to the beat of Lola's song.
